    Freedom of the press eh...

    - https://www.contractoruk.com/forums/...ml#post2805156, same classification as Russia

    - 35th in the world: 2020 World Press Freedom Index | RSF

    - Was not too bad, got worse under Tories, got better, then worse under Johnson: • United Kingdom: press freedom index 2013-2020 | Statista

    - A number of outlets including the Daily Mirror, Huffington Post, The Independent, etc. are excluded from Downing Street press briefings not too say that not one Cabinet Minister has appeared on GMB in over 130 days due to the criticism of CV-19 handling

    - The newspapers that were blocked were Murdoch-owned News Corp’s titles, including the Sun, Times, Sun on Sunday and Sunday Times, as well as the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph, the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, and the London Evening Standard. All Tory supporting titles which explains why there has been such a backlash by the government. Five reasons why we don’t have a free and independent press in the UK and what we can do about it | openDemocracy
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Roughly in order of their appearance in your diatribe:
The Huffington Post (I thought that was a wind-up, but I looked it up anyway) is basically someone's blog, with contributions. CUK is more deserving of a Downing St. Press Pass (perhaps not).

GMB is a vehicle for Piers Moron's ego, which is enough to avoid it unless you MUST keep up with what's happening in Love Island, and how Meghan and Harry are coping with lockdown in their 16-bed California mansion.

The newspaper which claims to be completely free and independent is the Graun, and the only papers they beat in the circulation figures are the Scottish titles (National newspaper ABCs: Full figures for November 2019 - Press Gazette). More than a million more people buy the Mail daily than the Graun.
We do have a free press, but we also have a free population, and they are not choosing to buy the Graun.
As long as Germany has a free press, you should be OK. Mind you, there's nothing we Brits like more than lectures on freedom from the Mainland.

Edit: Meghan and Harry's mansion doesn't have 16 bedrooms, it actually has 16 bathrooms, and 9 bedrooms. Why would one need more bathrooms than bedrooms? Definitely a question for Mr Moron on tomorrows GMB...

His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

I've always thought that of Huffington Post but they seem to be able to poke their noses in many places.

Good boy, darmie. It does indeed work both ways.

You should be free to indoctrinate yourself with the Canary and the Canary should be free to indoctrinate you.

They are the lefty opposition to Guido. They also sometimes publish a decent story.
