if the infection rate is tracking near to or lower than other European countries, but the death rate is tracking supposedly higher (per million stats don't always agree)..
Isn't this an indicator that our nation is just unhealthier? Less likely to survive a rough bought of flu let alone Covid-19?
Or perhaps we just got unlucky and some majorly vulnerable populations got hit hard first?Comment

Or simply because there is no consistent tracking of cause of death across each individual country.Originally posted by thelastrosbif View Postif the infection rate is tracking near to or lower than other European countries, but the death rate is tracking supposedly higher (per million stats don't always agree)..

Why not? They suppress everything else that doesn't make them look too good. Like the reasons there's not enough PPE and next to no testing...Originally posted by Mordac View PostOn the plus side, deaths from road accidents and street stabbings will probably be way down statistically. Suicides are likely to be higher. I doubt we'll ever know the true death toll from Covid19, but at least it won't be because the govt are deliberately suppressing the numbers.Comment

Could well do, although I heard (and perhaps that article mentions it) that the reason was newly introduced more rigorous ID checking which would have got anonyous phone users into trouble if they didn't ditch their multiple bootleg phone accounts pronto.Originally posted by LondonManc View PostStill down as unproven on Snopes: Did Millions of Canceled Cellphones Reveal Unreported Coronavirus Deaths in China?Last edited by OwlHoot; 15 April 2020, 05:30.Work in the public sector? Just to be clear the daily sensational 'death' figures are for media consumption and are missing everything that isn't hospital related.
The ONS figures collate everything reported up to the cut off, may exclude some longer running analysis (such as disputed post mortem) but is accurate and does include those from Care homes.Comment
