This thread shows why there is still extreme poverty in parts of UK. It looks like as long you are raking in a high day rate, you are alright, the rest can get fooked. Sad really. If the government tries to boost the status of the lower class through some reforms the well off are up in arms with indignation that their tax money is wasted on socialist policies.

Can you define that? Given the amount of taxpayers cash that goes into ensuring that doesn't happen.
If it's the 60% of average income as a marker for 'poverty' then I suggest we will never be rid of it.
