De-selected mps are perfectly entitled to stand for election, just not as Tory party reps. Along with the latter, constituencies then get the choice of two right-of-centre candidates, not one. -

The problem is that if the government is making a rule that only MPs who agree with it 100% are allowed to stay in the party, then it’s not really a democratic party any more, nor is it a democratic parliament. “You must agree with us, no dissenting, no debate, no discussion, or you will be sacked”
A Tory MP who wants to do what is best for his constituents will be sacked if what they want differs one jot or tittle from the diktat of Cummings.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
