About 8.30 to get in at 9ish usually (I don't bother with non essentials like washing or shaving or putting trousers on) but Mondays I have to get up at 5.30 to beat the traffic travelling back to Somewhere In England Town.

      Weekly commute:

Up 6 to get to airport and fly to Germany. Arrive office about 2:30 pm.

Up at 6:30 the other 4 days, to do hours during what's left of the week, and leave office at 1:30 pm on Friday.

Hate the commute: Monday morning is
      - train to London
      - tube or taxi
      - heathrow express
      - checkin and security
      - wait
      - flight
so it's not great for long reading slots or for a good kip.

Went from Birmingham instead of Heathrow this week. Think I'll keep that up.

PS Why don't they run a Eurostar (on good track, ha ha) from St Pancras to Frankfurt?

For me it depends what day I come down here. If I travel down on a Monday then it is up at 4:30 and driving by 5 to make it here (Uxbridge) by 9. Usually nip into where I stay for a shower to wake up a bit. If I come down on a Tuesday (like today) then I tend to set off 30 mins later as the traffic is a bit easier.

While down here the travel to the site is literally a 10 min drive. Then on a Thursday night I drive home to work Fridays from home. Going back on a Friday is a nightmare and I try to avoid that at all costs.

Done this for pretty much 5 years now at various clients and I'm sick of the sight of the M40 and the M6.

Do you get up that early to avoid paying the £4 for the M6 toll?
I travel down the M40 on Mondays from Cheshire, leave the house 7:30 ish and in the office in Buckinghamtulipshire by 10
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Yeah the office is a mile down the road!

No, I live in Rochdale so it can take 10 mins to get to the M62 and another 30 mins to hit jct 21 of the m6 and that is clogging along. On a Monday, at 5:30 am the m6 is already 3 solid lanes of traffic already grinding along. Then it's the toll road and often make my choice as to the route to take when I see how bad the bottom of the toll road is. Sometimes it is better to do the M1 and the a43 to join back to the M40. I also want to be there by 9, but I'm starting to come round to starting later these days - getting old I guess.

They had speed cameras on the toll road today - I went under one doing about 80 (had slowed down a bit) so I'm expecting another 3 points and a fine.

I saw a undercover police skoda pulling someone on Monday, as I alowed down from 110.

M42 isn't that busy if you hit it 8:30 -9 especially since they opened the hard shoulder as an extra lane

I've seen a silver skoda pulling people also. This morning they had cameras on one of the bridges before the end of the toll road on lanes 2 and 3 and one on the outside lane of the M42 where the two meet. As I said, when I spotted it (I was in the middle lane) I was doing 80 ish. They will have got loads today as nobody at all does the speed limit on that road.
