I have been to the city and it has the worst pick pocket rate in the whole of the UK, yes there are some nice buildings, but it doesn't make up for the constipated expressions on everyones faces. How can you not be fed up of London after 30 odd years of living there? Actually no need to answer, you don't know anything else! <you need to get out more>
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Been working in and around CW/City for last 10 years and while consider the City marginally better I mainly put this down to more options with things to do/places to go, though CW has steadly and rapidly been getting better over the years (remember when there was just two bars/ one newsagent and ...errr thats it)

As for living in CW, been on the Island for 12 years, and while things have improved thousand fold there is still a serious lack of pubs/restaurants (if you don't fancy going to CW) and other things to do

Where do they rank in the UK, I see that information is convieniently missing

It's convient to talk about crime reduction when the street crime rate is the highest in the UK

What, the Square mile has the highest pickpocket rate? Prove it. We're talking of the City here, not the city.
Of course, gormless, carrot-munching yokels like you who don't know the difference will get pickpocketed. That is, of course, entirely just and proper.
PS I have lived on the South Coast, in the North, Surrey and abroad.
                Hard Brexit now!

Bagpuss, is your purpose only to win the argument? If so, let it be. But the point that everyone is making is that the City is no more dangerous than the rest of the town, if not less. The point that London has more crime than the rest of the UK, that is dirtier, filthier, overpriced, blah blah doesn't bring anything to the discussion, in my opinion.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

The stupid plank doesn't know the difference. Of course the penny may drop soon.
