Who has said that it is okay when we do it?

Whether or not there is a dedicated government department to it, it would be fairly naive to assume that political manipulation through misinformation and the media doesn’t continue today.

Political misinformation not only by politicians, but by powerful people that want to influence politicians.

All true. But until there's evidence of the UK doing it on the scale that Russia (for example) does it, I shall not be particularly bothered, nor shall I claim a moral equivalence (what the UK did in the 60's is the same as what Russia is doing today).
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

General consensus seems to be that it's OK for us to do it because it's our fake news and we're the good guys doing it for noble reasons. Just ask all those dead Iraqis.

I wonder if the BBC are posting this to try and win some credibility as 'real news'.
