General consensus seems to be that it's OK for us to do it because it's our fake news and we're the good guys doing it for noble reasons. Just ask all those dead Iraqis.Originally posted by meridian View PostWho has said that it is okay when we do it?
Whether or not there is a dedicated government department to it, it would be fairly naive to assume that political manipulation through misinformation and the media doesn’t continue today.
Political misinformation not only by politicians, but by powerful people that want to influence politicians.
I wonder if the BBC are posting this to try and win some credibility as 'real news'.

All true. But until there's evidence of the UK doing it on the scale that Russia (for example) does it, I shall not be particularly bothered, nor shall I claim a moral equivalence (what the UK did in the 60's is the same as what Russia is doing today).Originally posted by meridian View PostWhether or not there is a dedicated government department to it, it would be fairly naive to assume that political manipulation through misinformation and the media doesn’t continue today.

Not unlike the situation we have today...Originally posted by AtW View PostIt was Cold War, moron, which could have turned into Hot.
And you should try to count how many lies USSR produced - even if you cou t them in just one source: newspaper called Pravda (Truth).
