The Tories may be having trouble getting a Brexit deal through but SNP can't even pass a budget unless the Greens bail them out, and in a growing economy they are running massive deficits. Scotland cuts its deficit, but is still outspending the UK | Business | The Guardian

If they think an independent Scotland would ever be allowed into the EU with those kinds of deficits they are as barmy as Theresa May.

To support their spending they'd have to increase tax rates, already higher than the rest of the UK, by more than 10%, which would just drive anyone who has money and a choice south of the border, and end up probably costing revenue.

Their economic competency is perhaps only just higher than Corbyn and McDonnell.

Mr Hoot has a point. Most MP's have just woken up to the idea that this is an Historic moment for the country and they have missed the boat. If Mrs May pulls this off there will be much blood letting.

I'm starting to wonder whether Theresa May isn't the craftiest politician ever, and has been angling and scheming for a no deal Brexit right from the start.

But during the referendum she voted remain. I hardly think she would have changed her mind that much in 2 years.

She was a reluctant remainer, much as Corbyn was. Once the vote was in, she saw the prize of ending FoM that she's wanted since she was in the Home Office and has run with it. It didn't take much to turn her into a Brexiter, it's just that she has different priorities on why she wants to leave.

It was a distraction technique.

She could easily have ended FoM from outside the EU. Which is still spiralling out of control.

On the face of it, yes of course, and I'd concede it's more likely she's doing the Right Thing (a No Deal Brexit) so far by accident, like a kind of Inspector Clouseau

But consider also how many Brexiter MPs have apparently been willing to go along with the atrocious deal (perhaps knowing or guessing it was never meant to be voted on let alone implemented? )
