Being retired I don't do pro stuff anymore but its amazing what you can still do with VB6 student edition. Got a program to backup to my spare computer on network, is really fast, one to play any of my favourite tunes on Youtube, another to show my password list by clicking on a small hidden area on my desktop, plus loads more. I do know how to (or did anyway) use .net etc but VB6 is so much simpler and always works. Embed the latest MS browser? No problem.Yeah, I should have used VB6, then I'd be able to use PEEK and POKE to write machine code
What I really like about MS is their backward compatibility. Certainly not true of Google. Used to do Android programs. When I wanted to make a few small changes I would first have to spend hours just trying to make the existing code work properly.bloggoth

You could have PEEKed and POKEd to your heart's content in Sinclair Spectrum basic, all in 16k of RAM.Originally posted by AtW View PostYeah, I should have used VB6, then I'd be able to use PEEK and POKE to write machine code

In terms of the thread itself, have the goalposts stopped moving yet?The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment
