So for the record shauny refuses to name the rank he attained, even though I honestly told him mine, lowest in Soviet military, I can only conclude his was still the lowest after 15 years of active service compared to my 0

Secret radio comms basically meant sitting on yer bottom and pressing some buttons, also it meant you were one expendable dude in order to keep secrecy

I guess they picked a dumbo like yourself in hope that no GRU torture would get anything useful out of you, have to say - choice well made by the British Army

Bugger, I was really counting on Putin's losing "elections" tonight...

By the way shauny - if you were really bright technical specialist then you would have gotten job in private sector

Btw, the way I gather the van driving job you doing now is something very similar to your 15 years of dull wire connecting, how many wire colours were there - three or just two to keep things doable for the likes of you?

No doubt your extensive miltary experience helped you to draw that wacky conclusion.
Tragically, the truth is vastly different.
I was not there to "press the buttons", I was there to ensure that the vast array of comms options that a successful Army needs to achieve victory were available at all times.
And as Military Comms generally leads its civilian counterpart by a number of years, it was highly technical work. Well paid too as it goes all things considered.
Not for the wheezy and queasy rear-echelon types that YOU might have been if you hadn't effectively turned tail.

The reality is that it was ME that made the choice of what career path I chose in the British Army.

I opted for the one with the best salary, the quickest promotions, a great selection of posting options, and the most useful technical training for the point in the future that I chose to leave.

It all worked out swimmingly for all parties concerned.

Now DO please tell us again of how you joined the ranks of Clinton and Trump in ducking out of your obligations to the country that spawned you?

So you were the maintenance guy well behind the front line who was on call to change lightbulbs in equipment which was designed for private industry rejects like yourself.

You were doing this for 15 years to finish this active maintenance service with the highest rank available, which is also the lowest

I told you twice already about my draft - I was put into reserves due to medical condition (astma), it was disqualifying condition in the Soviet Army (thus placing me into reserves for possible call out to active duty in the event of war when somebody like me was needed for the last push to Birmingham (AL) )

All of my jobs have been in the private sector ever since I left the military.

Motorola, Ericsson, Siemens, Lucent, etc. etc. etc.

Sorry if that bursts your little bubble.

Of course not. But for the purposes of THIS thread, let's just focus on AtW.
