2. Whilst prostitution may be the oldest profession most western companies would be very unhappy with staff who set up a whorehouse in a property they paid to rent.
3. These organisations are funded by the public either directly or indirectly (via taxation), they prey on our morality for their funding, their behaviour should be above reproach.
YMMV

But the second, although probably correct from the companies' practical policy standpoint, doesn't merit any of the moral outrage these carry ons have provoked and so is irrelevant.
And I don't agree with the third either: As long as they're doing their jobs, why should anyone worry what they do in their leisure time, with (presumably) their own money, especially as they are also helping these prostitutes by paying them?
If we were paying monks to stay celibate and sing masses for our salvation each day then, fair enough, it would be disappointing if they started running a whorehouse employing their acolytes and the nuns down the road. But aid workers are not saints.Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment

They are in loco parentis they should behave that way.
They may not be monks but they are funded to do good.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

In the context of the Haitian Prostitution trade, "doing good" is a relative term.
Its about trust, especially with underage kids. That is 24*7. If you add economic deprivation to the mix its even more disgusting. Am I the only one who finds the "how are you going to pay the bill love???? porn a bit unpleasant?" Being forced into using sexual favours to survive because you don't have enough money for food & shelter is not really something we should see as acceptable.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

It appears that there has been a fair amount of activity that is wholly unacceptable by any standards and that needs to be addressed and stamped out, but the scale of the witch hunt that is unfolding seems to be a little over the top to me.
If we hold onto the expectation that our Aid Workers are all likely to be whiter than white at all times then we are going to struggle to recruit any in future.
It is hugely hypocritical of our Political and Church leaders to be pouring fuel onto the fire given their chequered histories too.
