You have seen which section you've posted it in haven't you? Have a look at the titles of the other threads in this area and ask yourself if this was the best place.

There has been lots of advice on 5 pages. I would get a quote from the brokers mentioned/posted on here. If you get a deal from a fee based broker you can then work out whether this is better over x number of years (ie repayments + fee) and compare to a deal offered by a fee free broker. It doesn't matter whether someone offers an upfront fee or not it is about 1) the overall amount you repay 2) customer service.

5 pages on this thread + 5 pages on the previous thread where he was given similar advice but it appears he didn't take it because he didn't like it.

Yes i have 2 good suggestions to follow up on and i thank the posters for those suggestions. My point is, if 2 brokers can get exactly the same deal from the same lender, why would anyone choose to pay a fee. If the broker gets you a cheaper deal then i can see it being worthwhile paying a fee.

thanks for doing your snooping, what are you out to prove, are you out to humiliate me more? My circumstances have changed. I asked for simple suggestions but that is too much of a challenge for bullies like you.

exactly - bell the 2 suggestions and then try a fee based broker like CMME. If the deals are all the same go for it without the fee and assuming their service is up to scratch. The assumption is the deals are all the same - which they may well be but worth checking this out just in case.

When someone asks a question, I tend to search to see if similar questions have been asked before and if the previous advice is still useful.
In this case the person who asked the question previously was given an answer of "speak to a contractor specialist mortgage advisor". That advice still holds true.

If you end up with two advisors offering you exactly the same deal with exactly the same figures over the life of the mortgage, apart from one being £1000 more expensive, then go with the cheaper one. But you'd want to make sure it was exactly the same figures and that both were able to get you approved for the mortgage.
One might be able to suggest a deal, but whether you would get approved for the deal has a lot to do with how knowledgeable the advisor is with contractors and getting them mortgages.
