Unfortunately I have to agree with BM on this one. The board is rapidly going to hell and the signal to noise ratio has gone through the floor. IT's not all down to the new girlies, though they have done their part, there have been a number of others who have upped the pointless post levels as well - AtW, I'm looking at you for starters.

It's getting to the point where it's not worth reading, let alone posting anymore.

OK - there are some people on this board who I would take no notice of, but the likes of DaveB and Xen I do listen to. I've had a good crack on with both of you since I joined, and I respect what yous say.

No one owns a public board or its contents, or can deem what is worthy of conversation or not. Admins can ban or chastise people saying things they don't like or feel are inappropriate for the board, move and edit threads and so on, but that's as far as it goes. If you don't like what you read, don't read it. That's what I do. If it's truly intolerable stop visiting.

If some people consistently generate too much noise and drown out the stuff you're interested in, make liberal usage of the 'Ignore' feature. That works for me too.

I'm not asking anyone to leave or stop posting. Just turn it down a bit. We've always had the flames, arguments and meaningless drivel - at least since I've been here anyway - but there was normally a good ratio of decent posts to balance it out.

Anyone turning up here now looking for a place to talk about the ins and outs of contracting is going to be hard pushed to find anything worth reading if it keeps going like this.

As for the rest I'm as guilty as anyone of ranting and flaming when something winds me up - Daily Mail readers and religion ( ok, Chico ) seem to be the usual culprits

Very kind of you to say so, but we all post tosh from time to time - me in particular.

As has been said, no-one dictates what is posted on a public internet message board. I've got to agree (again) with DaveB's most recent post - everything in moderation is often a good thing. Just my opinion.
