Viewed in isolation, I reckon you'd be screwed. Viewed through the filter of General, I reckon the pool of suspects would widen dramatically.

Kill him? Just poison him enough to leave him in a weakened state and someone is bound to finish him off.

          So:
          1. Mow down a group of kids and nick their flowers and teddy bears
          2. Get an East European cleaner who will work in the nude
          3. The Year of Hell as per NLUK's suggestion
          4. A balloon
          5. Various pearl recommendations
          6. 2 divorces
          7. Anal

An interesting list, considering my question was: what have you bought (for your partner) or done (for your partner) for major milestone birthdays?

Sounds about right. Just not necessarily in that order.

I hope you noticed the cleaner wasn't gendered. So you can get your wife one of her gender of preference. (She may not want the sex to match.)

So - with some degree of seriousness to this request - what have you bought (for your partner) or done (for your partner) for major milestone birthdays?
