Actually some of them don't give a feck - just don't eat bacon or sausages though...."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JR -
Nope. The story was broken by Andrew Norfolk. The same journalist who uncovered the Rotherham abuse and cover up.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostThe Indie quotes The Times.
The Times probably got the report of Reuters, the PA etc.
The issue is why was a WASP child placed with a culturally different family, when it would seem that there are sufficient carers of her own culture? Where possible, kids are to be placed with carers of their own culture. Why was it not possible in this case? The council so far refuses to give an answer.
Originally posted by The TimesAnne Longfield, the children’s commissioner for England, said that her office would contact the director of children’s services at Tower Hamlets to establish more about the facts of the case.
“I am concerned at these reports. A child’s religious, racial and cultural background should be taken into consideration when they are placed with foster carers,” she said.
Local authorities in England making a foster placement are required to give due consideration to the child’s “religious persuasion, racial origin and cultural and linguistic background”.
Robert Halfon, chairman of the Commons education committee, said the situation was “incredibly concerning” and that it was vital to establish whether the case was a one-off.
“I’d be equally concerned if a Muslim child who didn’t speak English was placed with a Christian foster carer whose family didn’t speak the child’s language and at times appeared to show little respect for his cultural heritage,” he said.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

So why don't you foster children rather than just complain about others that do?Originally posted by TheGreenBastard View PostNice, typical apologetic stances.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

The Daily Mail and how they originally reported the story, picture on left and picture on right shows how they followed it up. Spot the difference?

don't have much of a problem with most of this story
worked with a Muslim guy recently and he and his wife would foster kids from different backgrounds, when speaking to him bout it he was happy to accept any kids into his house, the only stipulation he had was that the kids would eat the same food his family ate which I thought was fair enoughComment

So basically they had to eat meals that are controlled by his religion. How is that not part of indoctrinating a child into their religion.Originally posted by filthy1980 View Postdon't have much of a problem with most of this story

What else could they not do that was incompatible with their religion.Comment
