Yes, one by one I am ruling out the possible causes so that finally I can nail the real reason! Sure it will help others as well.
This is the saddest exercise I've seen on here for a long time so I doubt it will. The whole thing, agent hating, sweeping statements, wrong focus, refusal to listen to advice. It's just rubbish. I can't see what on earth you are going to get out of this except some micro answers that won't go anywhere to looking at the whole picture and understanding it properly, which is what I think you are missing.
You've got 17 odd answers and still haven't come to any kind of conclusion or action to take. You just can't do it like this. An average of two numbers from a random set of people you have no idea about is going to help you in your search for a contract? I dunno if you couldn't do it from the beginning or if you've just gotten desperate and have lost the plot but I think you need to go back to fundamentals and understand what you are, who your client is, how and who is involved and deliver what they want. I'd re-consider your career as a contractor as well...
'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!
Yes, done all these in last 10+ years. Thanks for listing all.
Next question is - MY CV is in Word 2003 format. No one so far complaint about that. This could be a reason.?
Yes!! Yess Yeeeessssssss... That's the reason. That's it. It's not because you are a clueless idiot.. It's the version of Word... Why didn't we see that earlier.

I was managing 30+ member team and dealing directly with Programme Directors daily till few months back, suddenly I can't be useless!.
Ahhh. A manager is a manager because they're good.
Not promoted to management as they're no good but get on with people.
Hint. Contractors aren't used as managers as they are temporary.
Hint 2. Managers aren't usually any good at what their juniors do. That may not actually be your case but it is generally thought to be so.
Are you a Test Manager or a manager of testers?
Hint 3. The former can get contract work, the latter cannot.
