The cost is relatively small and is a better option than the thought of any girl going to auntie and using knitting needles.

They got the Tories on camera cheering a vote against removing a pay cap for teachers, firefighters, police, doctors and nurses. It was a win-win for the opposition - win the meaningless vote and they show how weak the government is; lose the vote and the Tories become the party that cheered a pay freeze for the public sector.

The Tories are muppets but, if we're talking about optics, losing three from the shadow front bench isn't great optics.
