Good luck to those who decide to leave. I left the UK a year ago now, how time flies. I'm splitting my time between the middle east and east Asia now. Never been happier, actually. For the older farts like me, who have a few years left to work, take a look at the non habitual residents visa for Portugal. A modest apartment over there somewhere nice and fairly relaxed will be my next move. Strangely enough, after the last lot of falling down buildings over there, earthquake or something, I was asked if I wanted to go there even though I'm past the normal age bracket, more in a professional capacity than as a worker bee.
Wifey wouldn't let me. I'd have thought she would have been glad to see the back of me after being married to me since 1980...
