How many workers would it take to erect/modify the houses and the solar panels? Im guessing the kinds number of people that can work on nuclear fusion reactors are fairly small compared to the thousands of bread winners that can build a wall or re-roof a building.

In an ideal world we should do both but seeing as there is already a sun there to provide the free energy today spending billions to re-create one is a little pointless.

There are probably only a thousand people in the world who would work on this sort of project, there are millions of builders.

the "Project" has a 20 years timeline just to get to the point where they switch on the machine !!

I did the maths of this in final year at university. And then there were building a machine that would take 20 years to switch on.
