It's a smart move in many ways, not counting the impact on the other no-hopers (Corbyn? Farron? Robertson? ) that will be forming some form of opposition.
That's right - it's called the Salisbury Convention...

In Germany no-one gives a sh*t about Brexit, there are no talk shows about it and it doesn't appear in the news. When there are reports small companies shrug their shoulders say they'll simply stop importing/exporting to the UK and "so what", plenty of other business thank you very much.

I don't think the EU will be doing much negotiating other than presenting a series of "Bar bills".

      I'm alright Jack

Tories will make Britain so poor that nobody will be able to afford any imports from EU anymore.

You've heard it on here first...

Yes obviously any company who can export or import and still make a profit will stop doing it because that makes perfect sense.

Sure any shareholders will be happy to take the drop in dividends to.

It's out of their hands, why worry?

The rEU's exports to the UK are only a small amount of the total, something like 8% IIRC. So tariffs or restrictions or even a complete block doesn't hurt them a great deal. And that can be offset by taking over manufacturing the 45% of UK exports that go to the EU.

None of it's good, but it's the UK that's put political barriers in front of trade. Why should anyone else go to any effort? Makes no sense unless you buy into the Britain is oh so great mentality.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

British tea, jam and biscuits will be at the heart of Britain's Brexit trade plans

                  So there!

well it was on the news again, the German economy is powering ahead, earnings up, not enough people to do the work, huge budget surplus and they're actually having difficulty spending money, because there isn't enough spare capacity to handle the business. Germany will be very disinterested in Brexit. The focus there is definitely settling the bar bill.

                      Good for them.

And i mean that i like success stories.

Hopefully they can use some of that surpless to aid the struggling nations of the eu.

Maybe they could just install a german government in each one.

Its what they have been trying to do since 39 soooo...
