I don't disagree. But when it comes to religion, the differences matter to many adherents. Pretending that they don't is disingenuous. Islam, Judaism and Christianity have many things in common, but the core beliefs - the ones that matter to the believers - are quite distinct, Such as the nature of sin, forgiveness, salvation/redemption/what makes God happy etc.

All of those things are pretty much the same actually. The core for all the religions is the same - it seems you are ignorant of the religious beliefs of the 3. This is a well known misconception about Islam actually:

[2:62] Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.

[5:69] Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabians and the Christians whoever believes in God and the last day and does good-- they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve.

[22:17] Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabeans and the Christians and the Magians and those who associate (others with God)-- surely God will decide between them on the day of resurrection; surely God is a witness over all things.

[5:82] And you will certainly find the nearest in friendship to those who believe (to be) those who say: We are Christians; this is because there are priests and monks among them and because they do not behave arrogantly.

[39:53] Say: O my servants! who have acted extravagantly against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of God; surely God forgives the sins altogether; surely He is the Forgiving the Merciful.

And at the start of every single chapter:

In the name of God, the most compassionate, the most merciful.

Since a core belief of Christianity is that Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected three days later, and in the New Testament, Paul says that if there was no resurrection then our entire faith is useless, I must respectfully disagree with your contention.
        1. Islam teaches Jesus did not die.
        2. Christianity teaches that it was necessary that he die and be resurrected so that we could be forgiven and have eternal life with him.

I can see no way of reconciling these two beliefs. They cannot both be true. (Of course, both could be false).

Unless you view religion as "wouldn't it be nice if everyone was nice", when you look at core beliefs at anything beyond a superficial level - no, they are most definitely not the same.

So he lives forever? Or is he an international man of mystery?

Islam views Jesus as a prophet. But both worship the same God.

We have these people in our midst and we need to surveil the f**k out of them. And I'm sure that happens which is why this type of event is thankfully a rare thing.

I do struggle with the concept of returnees from Syria being allowed to remain at liberty though .

Let's face it, they were radicalised when they left, they're radicalised and brutalised when they come back.

Walking time bombs IMO. They should be held at her majesty's pleasure.
I guess you are really young.

I lived in London while the IRA and their derivatives where bombing that or saying they were going to bomb parts of it. They seemed to have "fun" with their coded warnings.

I ended up doing my first jobs with couple of people who had lost a leg and had mangled legs due them.

Oh and they didn't just stick to the centre of London either, though they made more impact by bombing areas like Warrington and Manchester. So you could move, which I did, and find them using a bigger bomb in the city you moved to even though their were more Northern Irish Catholics there.

That is one hell of a generalisation, and absolute tosh. I would have expected more from you?

                    I wish

I remember our annual school trip to London being cancelled due to the threat.

The IRA even bombed Bath. Nobody was hurt though .

As I've said elsewhere, the difference is that the IRA thing was resolvable through getting people around a table.

The Islamist terror threat isnt resolvable while all this wahibbism is allowed to go unchecked. People are beino turned into nihilistic lunatics who wish to completely destroy our way of life.
