The majority of people in Scotland know how evil the Tories can be.
The poll tax was introduced here first as requested by the Scottish local authorities and Scottish MPs. There was a Scottish rates reevaluation which was going to hammer single occupants in houses which were mostly pensioners so they asked the UK government to move it forward. There is lots of information on the web to validate that.

The myth that it was 'tested' here is standard SNP/Leftist grievance. It's simply not true and people who peddle it often know it.

And it was those in England who rioted who changed Tory opinion...

Almost true. Except that it wasn't requested by 'Scottish MPs and local authorities'. It was Scottish Tory advisors, (a couple of whom were MPs) but as you state, it wasn't a decision taken by Thatcher.

He was wrong on that as well. All that happened here was Tommy Sheridan got sent to sing sign and we got a bit of quiet time.

The SNP stopped chasing outstanding poll tax debt a few years ago which was shameful.

There is no reason why the economy of Scotland cannot be adjusted to similar like Iceland or Norway. No reason whatsoever.

What is certain is the risk to the economy when Scotland is dragged over the Brexit cliff edge against the will of the majority by a party they did not vote for. You say that anywhere else and people thing you're living in Zimbabwe.
Indeed. Neither are in the EU but are members of the single market. Fine, I can see that working. But joining the EU is a whole separate proposition, involving a huge degree of change.

Why would Scotland joining the EU be a huge degree of change when Scotland's already been in the EU for 25 years?
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

We would have to get our own currency and then commit to joining the Euro. Our new currency would instantly devalue while our mortgages would remain in sterling.

And we have to commit to a 3% deficit while it is 9.8% just now. That would mean a 14% drop in public spending.

it would be madness and the SNP know it now.
