what should also be part of the equation is that most of the Iraqis that have been killed have not been by coalition troops. I have no figures, but nor am I making any assumptions. Your "proof" as far as I can see is not definitive and like most statistics probalbly leaves out inconvenient factors. -
Comprehensive proof, of why women should never have been given the voteOriginally posted by SallyAnneI think I stand alone when I say I really like Tony Blair.
All politicians are the same in my eyes, but with Tony I actually believe he has a good heart.
I think it'll be a sad day when he stands down
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't thinkComment

Agree with Ardesco. Imprison the b'tard, preferably in a prison near Birmingham with lots of nice young Muslim men who will want to engage in rational and constructive argument with him about the Iraqis killed. Stabbity stab is definitely halalbloggoth

"Since March 2003, an additional 2.5% of Iraq's population has died above what would have occurred without conflict," the report said. The country's population is roughly 24 million people.
Human Rights Watch has estimated Saddam Hussein's regime killed 250,000 to 290,000 people over 20 years.

""Oh dear. How many Iraqis have died since he lied to get us to go to war?"""
This is what you originally said, and whilst I am happy to accept that your evidence is correct, you have at least been forced to de spin your original statement.
So maybe what you should have said is:
"How many more Iraqis have died since the war than would have died under Saddam.?"
It is interesting that you think that Sunnis and Shias take no responsibility themselves for killing each other.Comment

Not really. It's true I hadn't allowed for nit-picking, but I don't see any fundamental change in my position.Originally posted by Forumbore""Oh dear. How many Iraqis have died since he lied to get us to go to war?"""

Tony Blair lied to get us to go to war and as a consequence many people died who would not have otherwise.Boom boom boom boom

Don't forget the suicide of a scientist. That's on his record too. And blaming of all brown-skinned people for all the problems in the country.Originally posted by swampI'm with SallyAnne on this one, I don't believe Blair lied as such. But Blair was responsible for fostering a political climate in the defense and intelligence agencies where they were heavily encouraged to come to the (wrong) conclusion that Iraq had WMD. In other words, it's still Blair's fault.
History will eventually record that ~1m Iraqis died in the civil war caused by the illegal invasion of Iraq, prompted in most part by the (incorrect) claim they had WMD. This will be Blair's shining legacy.

And a very clever scientist too, who when he committed suicide by slashing his own wrists left no foot prints or blueblood at the scene"A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices," George OrwellComment
