At present Dr Who sells to 37 countries. I presume they have worked out the risks of some of those countries not buying the new series?Comment

Dr Who is an alien so actually doesn't have a human biological sex and human gender.
Dr Who is aimed a children not adults particularly sexist adult men. If it was aimed at adults Dr Who would be clearly trans-gender.
Oh and the recent series of Dr Who had an openly lesbian assistant and Matt Lucas so those 37 countries would have had a lot more to complain about."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
