It's a bit unfair to attack May for not being critical of Trump's immigration policy. Let's face it, with Brexit, we are going to need all the 'Friends' we can get. If we could cuddle up with Stalin to defeat the Nazis, then making good with the 'Grabber in Chief' is really small fry.

I wonder when many people will question such a point against the awful time we had being a member of the EU.

How about not doing Brexit? Then we won't have to cosy up to crazies like Trump, she should put on referendum her current "whitepaper" and only proceed if 2/3 vote for it

I see. So the question in the referendum was actually "Should the PM condemn the actions of a sexist, misogynistic, racist US President?".

The Referendum was about our leadership getting the best possible deal for the country. Part of that will quite possibly hinge on getting, and staying, on the right side of Trump, love him or loathe him.

This she seems to be doing in her own quiet way, and as long as she continues in that vein then she will have my blessing.

She has said quite enough about the fact that we view some of his "methods" and "techniques" differently. No sense in overegging things however.

The only possible way to GET the best possible deal was to say NO to staying within a restrictive profligate anachronism that prevented this.

Trump is nothing relative to Saudi and China. It is not up to the UK to be the world policeman.

Two points on this that seem to have been missed:

1/ Obama bombed six of the seven countries that Trump blocked

2/ Would there have been an outcry or support if he had instead banned Saudi Arabia and Pakistan instead, given that they have been proved to be promoting Wahhabism, the more virulent and hate-fuelled brand of Islam?
