Yep.

I was born and brought up in London.

Escalators are damn easy - you put your large case on the step before you and your hand luggage either on your back or the side near the hand rail.

You make sure that you can carry your large case up and down 10 steps with preferably one hand but two.

You also don't put valuables in places people expect so you aren't pick pocketed however as you know exactly where they are you can access them quickly and swap their location once you are at the airport.

The main issue is you see is women with 38 inch cases which clearly have too many shoes and/or books in so they can't carry them.

Fine, you and Eek can struggle up and down and on the tube all you like, but I've lived in London all my life and if I had any sort of luggage I would just get a cab.

No it would be a bit longer, he'd have to avoid the motorways. You can't walk those.

The route doesn't include motorways. Lots of A and B roads though. Also, I don't think the 87 hour estimate allows time for any sleep....

You've never tried to ride an escalator with a suitcase each and some hand luggage then.

I travelled from Paddington to Kings X with a suitcase in one hand, a bass guitar on my back and a guitar amp in my other hand.

It was fine since I'd got off the sleeper ~6am. In the rush hour I would not want to repeat it

I didn't study the route in detail, I have what's known as "a life", but there did seem to be some overlaps (e.g. the M1 at the bottom end), but there doesn't seem to be any contingency for eating or toilet breaks either, so I wouldn't reckon the OP's chances of being allowed on the plane with nearly 4 days worth of Richard the Thirds in his kecks.
It does sound like a good weight loss strategy though, should he need it. What do you reckon he'd lose lugging a fully loaded suitcase nearly 300 miles without eating anything? Apart from his wife / partner, obviously...
