Don't - it takes about a fortnight. If you have cases, the tube will be a nightmare, get a black cab to Paddington for the LHR Express. Flying is much easier, it's about an hour from memory, and as Eek says, usually much cheaper. His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain... -
Even a train to Manchester then flight from there would be better.Originally posted by Mordac View PostDon't - it takes about a fortnight. That said, it depends what the differentiator is - cost or time. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment

If you're travelling at quiet times, kings cross to Paddington on the tube is fine with luggage. Avoiding commuter times essential!Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

You'll be fine on a Saturday, depending what football matches are on.Originally posted by d000hg View PostIf you're travelling at quiet times, kings cross to Paddington on the tube is fine with luggage. Given that I commuted in London for 10 years I really don't get the issue with baggage. Just force your way on and wait for a gap to appear...Originally posted by LondonManc View PostYou'll be fine on a Saturday, depending what football matches are on.merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment

And if you are traveling at the weekend even over Christmas there is plenty of room.Originally posted by eek View PostGiven that I commuted in London for 10 years I really don't get the issue with baggage. Just force your way on and wait for a gap to appear...
Obviously a more frequent commuter will know the best places to put cases in tube and train carriages but nevertheless it still can be done."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

You've never tried to ride an escalator with a suitcase each and some hand luggage then.Originally posted by eek View PostGiven that I commuted in London for 10 years I really don't get the issue with baggage. Just force your way on and wait for a gap to appear...

Yep.Originally posted by Mordac View PostYou've never tried to ride an escalator with a suitcase each and some hand luggage then.
I was born and brought up in London.
Escalators are damn easy - you put your large case on the step before you and your hand luggage either on your back or the side near the hand rail.
You make sure that you can carry your large case up and down 10 steps with preferably one hand but two.
You also don't put valuables in places people expect so you aren't pick pocketed however as you know exactly where they are you can access them quickly and swap their location once you are at the airport.
The main issue is you see is women with 38 inch cases which clearly have too many shoes and/or books in so they can't carry them."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

People don't hate you if you move your cases at a reasonable pace and don't block tube/train doors.Originally posted by eek View PostYep... I'm one of those bastards others hate....
The people I hate are those who are surprised that others will push them out of the way due to their dithering."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
