I think Tesco are doing a public service training the proletariat to queue.
Particularly post-Brexit, they'll have to get used to dole queues and food bank queues.

What on earth are private school children doing in Tesco? Surely its Waitrose or nothing (The posher Booths, Whole Foods are suitable in other parts of the country).

Edit to add - when I was at school there was a 5 pupil rule* in the local newsagent - set by the school for admin purposes.

* The rule was modified rapidly to exclude me on the basis that while most other people came via the bus it was my local newsagent and I wasn't going to queue up to go into it when I knew the staff and often turned a hand when it was busy...

Quite bloody right. I went to a comp (as some of you might have noticed) and the black market in shoplifted goods was rife, even back in the 80s. You could go in on a Monday morning and trade almost anything for anything. We were trading in porno mags, gold chains, bottles of spirits, fags, you name it. I specialised in fags, I knew where my local newsagent dumped his unsaleable ciggies, and liberated a few each week.
Nobody even bothered with lessons. I learnt more about trade and the free market in break times than i did in 2 years of A level Economics. They are (as we were) all thieving little chimps, get over it.

To a point I can see the issue there. Due to the local secondary schools being rubbish, more children go to private schools in Edinburgh than anywhere else in the country...
