No they haven't. This number is from the 'Oregon Petition' - it did not claim a GW is fraudulent hoax and its signatories have not suddenly 'come forward', it has been going since 1998.



Um, why cite 2014 in 2016, skipping over 2015? It’s a cherry-pick. It is true Antarctic sea ice peaked recently, but this is more due to it being a land mass surrounded by sea, the mirror image of the Arctic, which continues its long term decline.



The trend slowed for a while, allowing people to play sleight-of-hand tricks with statistical significance, however the warming has since resumed, now higher than model forecasts and 2016 is on course to be the third record warmest year in a row.

The petition has been going since 1998. It was distributed with a tricked-up bogus scientific article, and was widely gamed, at least at first. Any American with a degree may sign and the list includes, vets, medical doctors, botanists,*agronomists, chiropracters etc. Most of the signatories are in fact, engineers and the number who have signed, over 18 years, is a vanishingly small fraction of those who are eligible to do so. The consensus amongst climatologists, the climate literature and science academies is real.
