You and I know this is an anti-English thing. If the UK was so bad you'd have similar movements in Wales and Northern Ireland. It's a cult-like obsession.

Like everthing in life some ideas would work and some wouldn't. It's just the bits that didn't would wreck Scotland. Everyone knows of two such events even in the last decade; RBS in 2008 and the collapse in oil price recently. Why not just get on with governing with the vast powers the SNP have? Probably because it'll show the SNP's faults.
Again, if we have a shortfall that's because we have been mismanaged by Westminster.

It's rubbish that this is anti-English. It's all about being independent like any other country can be. There are many English members of the SNP and some are even MSPs. Deputy leader Angus Roberston was born in England to Scottish/German parents. The Independence movement is more than just the SNP so your argument doesn't hold water.

RBS are only headquartered in Edinburgh, the main business that caused the problems were in the City of London with the traders.

Oil price is on it's way back up and more oil has been discovered. We're the only country that sees oil as a curse FFS.

We don't have vast powers and we were promised the closest thing to home rule you can have. That was all reneged on and people who can remember 1979 knew that. The younger ones will know next time not to trust any promises.

Fine. Let us go and see who is better off after independence.

FWIW, I find it difficult to argue with that. I don't think you'd have a majority now, as then, and I don't think it would work out well for either Scotland or the RUK. I think it's unlikely that an independent Scotland would meet the requirements for EU membership, given its fiscal position and the lack of clarity over currency (certainly, keeping the pound would not be compatible with EU membership). Also, I really can't see the argument about the tyranny of the UK over the EU. All that said, it would be rather hypocritical as a Brexit voter to deny you a similar desire for independence. And the upside would be a lot less whining from the bloody nationalists

I know Scotland will be worse off, there is no doubt about it.
I'm sure some of of SNP will do nicely out of it though.
Still, I say go for it delude yourself about GDP and oil prices, I mean the economy doesn't matter right?

You are the deluded one. You believe the MSM that oil is of no use to us and that rUK will be better off without Scotland. If that was the case, why does Westminster keep hold of the troublesome Scots?

Right up to the point where they lost......AGAIN.....at which point they would be frantically looking around for ways to blame it all on Westminster and accusing the NO majority of having been duped/scared/too stupid to fully understand (delete as appropriate)

Any chance we can have a Rest of the UK Scottish Independence referendum and just chuck them out instead?

Or would that lead to Scooter and Batcher whining about how we'd screwed Scotland over?
