    Once they get to set their own tax rates (rather than tweaking the UK rate) I don't think there will be any higher rate taxpayers left in Scotland.

    The devil is in the detail.

    It wasn't fully devolved. There is only the power granted to change each band +- a couple of percent and limited power to change the point at which this tax begins for higher earners. This has already been adjusted for the 40% tax band and adjusted up 1% to 41%.

    People begin to pay the 41% in Scotland at £43662.

    Sturgeon worked out long ago that she gets to do 80% of the stuff she would do if Scotland was independent. But only has to deal with 20% of the crap a real leader would. Like a Sturgeon-Pareto Distribution.
