Take the piss all you want in General. I thought my last post was clear, don't attack the newbs in the professional fora. We have had numerous cases of new posters being set upon outside of General, a few times I have asked people to confirm who they were via LinkedIn - every time it has been a real person. That saddens me.

In General I think the sockie hunt went too far, I liked the comedy sockies and as long as they stayed in General that was fine. Too many people on here have got some sort of sockie fixation. Honestly, we are all pretty anonymous on here, if someone has more than one account who gives a flying tat shop?

There has been a significant increase in sockies posting first in pro, then coming into general. It's so bad, it reflects badly on the whole forum and badly on the mods. If it's under your instructions then you've lost the plot. Perm bans should be used in exceptional cases. For TM, he should take a week and increase more until he gets it. Not a perm ban.

Absolutely agree with this. We have had incarnations of GittinsGal, Martin scroatman, Gricer, plantsdullard, FLC, Markymark etc etc and countless others who are nothing but trolling sockies and the mods allow them to pollute the forums. Somebody has o stand up and be counted and TykeMerc did that and it seems the Mods hate that.

I have to be honest (being on here longer than you ), that the boring / crappy sockies that people use should remain if they don't break the rules even if they are as dull as Suity. But, it's not been the posters here who have banned the Gittins, Scroats etc, it's been Cojak and NAT who have got 'bored' and taken them out.

In turn, that means when you have a non-sockie, they then use the same crap (I got bored) and take out a real poster.

What's surprising is, that posters like FLC are allowed who literally vent quite nasty stuff for sometime via PM or on the board (and even Bee who is also a sockie venting nasty stuff (not funny) but yet you don;t ban even after a report.

Be consistent. Nasty stuff 2 strikes then out. Boring tedious stuff, minor bans as & when required but sockies remain, real posters getting arsey in pro, 1,2,3,7,month,3 month bans). Easy peasy, nice and consistent.

Cough, cough. We did not ban him, your moderators did. So perhaps you need to overule(undermine) your crack team of moderators or at least be a decent leader & give them consistent rules....

Can't we just put General at the bottom of the forum pages and let it fester? That way the lazy noobies won't post in the wrong part and General won't be the flag ship section that people judge the rest of the forums by. No one will care and won't be a reflection on the forums so anything can go?

Mods have come under a lot of pressure to ban sockies from the likes of TykeMerc and fullyautomatix, it's not the mods getting bored it is us wanting less hassle from the reported posts all the sodding time! As I said, I have always quite liked them unless they strayed out into the business areas and then it was curtains for them.

FLC - I did not see any reported posts as to the nasty stuff he was posting. Personally I was shocked when I saw the crap he had been hitting people with and am glad he is gone. I don't think Bee is in the same league. So if Bee is a sockie, who's sockie is she? I don't think she is a sockie... Bee - feel free to send me your LinkedIn profile and proof of ownership - I won't share it with anyone else
