Pretty impressive and remember you have to thank good old John Major for being a big part of it. In 1996, when GB came 36th in the medals ranking, UK Olympics only received around 5m support and then Major instigated the National Lottery of which a fair old chunk of its proceeds are spent on sport in the UK, in fact between the last Olympics and this one, they've invested around 274m in the sporty people (76m on the disabled sporty people). So remember, if you want to beat the USA at the next Olympics, do the lottery...
