There is undoubtedly a 'clean up general' focus at the moment, I don't have a problem with that but it is not being handled particularly well. My opinion is that moderators have to decide if they want to be in the cut and thrust of the big debates or have a moderating position, there have been instances recently where I would suggest threads have been moved/closed and the moderating decision has been motivated from a forum poster perspective. "I'm not winning this" or "I don't agree with the narrative set by the majority of poster here". tulip like that pisses people off.

And can we stop banning sockies, seriously. I enjoy reading their ramblings about recumbent bicycles, train routes and the chipping Norton set, they add a lot to the forum and there is clearly effort made from the poster, Banning the more overtly charismatic ones just leads to new sockies that try to fit in with the crowd which are infinity more annoying. So I expect Buggerage to be returned to posting post haste.

The forum is slowly going down, I'm going to guess registered poster login time has been decreasing for a while, that may not be a metric the site cares about but it is a big one from a user level. As I said a couple of weeks ago in my twitter thread the functionality of the platform is lagging now, being able to embed technology newer than youtube would be a positive,
