Police were called to Russell Square at 10.30pm last night and arrested the teenager, a Norwegian of Somali origin, on suspicion of murder after armed officers Tasered him to the ground. He spent the night in hospital and is now at a south London police station.

No, there really wasn't. The police said that terrorism was one line of inquiry, which you would expect, but that was all.

Your first post was at 10:35 this morning. At 07:58 the police were saying.

Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley has said mental health is a major line of enquiry in a London knife attack.
He added that terrorism was also being considered as a motivation.
A woman in her 60s was killed and five people were injured in the assault in Russell Square on Wednesday evening.

At no point was a link made between the attack and any form of religious radicalism.
