    Hmm.

We had a tree in or back garden cut down this morning. Was just chatting about gardening with the guy, talking about some of my veg and how I was expecting our carrot crop to be wonky, "that's ok, as long as you ain't selling em to someone in the EU with their regulations!".

The waste and destruction of tonnes of wonky veg in this country is entirely down to the buying policies of major supermarket chains and consumer desires for non wonky veg.

Remember 'no negotiation until Article 50'. Well that got broken within a day. So much for the rules.
You expect EU states to break laws in order to have a deal with EU???

So you expect to have deals with EU states that would ignore EU laws in that area??? Suddenly UK will be able to violate EU rules wholst trading with EU countries who are obligated to enforce those EU rules

You're about to get a lesson in realpolitik when the EU (20% of world GDP) meets Britain (3% of world GDP).
But everyone with a brain (that clearly excludes you lot) knows that, hence why May has given the Brexit jobs to Brexiters.
When they invariably fail, this will be kicked in the long grass, but not before the economy has suffered hugely.
Eventually the penny will drop, even for you bone-headed thickos.
It hasn't been 20% for 6 years. It's been steadily falling since the late '80s, with a slight uptick when 8 countries joined in 2004. When the UK leaves of course that will cause a step down, rather than the general slide it's been taking anyway.

Why won't you put them in Tesco and see how many people actually buy them

                You've lost me completely now.

I have no idea how your previous reply was related to what I said, assumed it was a mistake, now I'm just wondering if you're drunk.

The 20% is without the UK. So maybe now it's 16% or thereabouts (without the UK).
Yes it has been falling as a share of the world economy but then so has Britain - it's simply that developing countries have higher growth rates.
                  Point still stands.

We will trade with individual members of the EU if we wish as individual countries.

People are still thinking in terms of the EU - we do not care
The EU does not care that the UK doesn't care.

Possibly. He's at Buck House (seriously, not a joke) sipping Queenies champers, no doubt.
