It's certainly not true that all those supporting Leave are racist.
However, it is true that very few racists support RemainComment

On a slightly more serious note, my weird female friend today was telling me about overhearing a pro EU discussion in a shop today, that it was all us old boomers who voted out. She said they were quite hostile towards her for being an old bag.
No reason to doubt the referendum stats re age and education but, going back to the hippy lunacies of my yoof, the rejection of consumerism, we were not only unrealistically idealistic but also pretty ill informed. Sorry youngies, but age is not just about being set in one's ways but also about learning from experience. In my experience, people actually get more open minded as they age. Look at the ISIS supporters, the violent anarchist/leftist groups, the really active far right protesters, they are mostly youngish.
If they seem to embrace a trend associated with change and modernity it is only because that happens to coincide with the current fad.bloggoth

51.9% of the vote isn't a massive majority. It's a majority of 1.9%, which is a tiny majority.
Still not massive true.bloggoth
