I agree. There is a lot that needs ironing out. But as a rule I would say it needs to focus on providing places for trades we need and ensuring that they are paid properly to make sure they are not just slave labour undercutting local job seekersOriginally posted by VectraMan View PostAverage from my impression of what people have been saying.
There's lots of subtleties to "not without a job". What if the job is for a month? What if they stay 3 years, build a life here, and then lose their job through no fault of their own? Does one man with a job get to bring his wife and 6 children?Comment

It should be out by default, as we never voted for the EU in the first place - and then have the vote to stay in.Originally posted by VectraMan View Post38% of the electorate decided, or about 26% of the UK overall. The other 74% (which includes children and EU citizens that don't get to vote) have it forced on them.
Hardly a shining example of the principle of democracy when you look at it like that. It should have required an absolute majority, and I'm not just saying that because I wanted the status quo to prevail.
That would be democratic.Comment

And how is that working out so far...Originally posted by SueEllen View PostIt's against the Council of Europe agreed European convention on human rights. (This is different from the EU as includes 47 European countries including Russia) In short unless the refugees/migrants are criminals we can't put them in camps and keep them there.
I'm not saying intern them I'm saying stop the roaming around and distribute them evenly.Comment

Bit wasn't their the L1's L2's B-somethings a while back? Even for Brits etc?Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostYou don't need a work permit. You can come here to look for work.
There was a referendum which decided that the quotas would be reintroduced for EU citizens. The Federal government now have to figure out how to implement the will of the people without (too many) EU sanctions- they're in discussion with the EU about it. Rather similar to the UK situation.Comment

How? Unless Tesco etc start paying higher prices (passed on to consumers), then where does the extra money come from?Originally posted by minestrone View PostFishing and farming will go back to profitable industries again outwith the ridiculous payouts from CAP and CFP.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

Didn't Poland and a few other newer EU members complain that they couldn't accept migrants with a different religion from theirs so refused to do a deal on quotas? This means the Southern European countries Greece, Malta, Italy etc have to cope with people entering through them and using them to get to Northern Europe.Originally posted by bobspud View PostAnd how is that working out so far...
