    Capital flight controls have landed

There goes me moving that 20k at the last minute.

    Hello,

With the EU Referendum in the UK on Thursday 23rd June, exchange rates are likely to be volatile. We’ve been putting plans in place so that your transfers continue to be processed as smoothly as possible.

So if it’s critical that you send money abroad this week, try to do it early Wednesday, or once the results are out.

To protect our customers, TransferWise will limit GBP transfers later in the week:
From 7am (GMT+1) Thursday, you won’t be able to create new transfers from any currency to GBP.
From 6pm on Thursday, you won’t be able to create new transfers from GBP to other currencies.
If you create a GBP transfer and we don’t receive your payment for it by 8pm Thursday, it will be automatically cancelled.
Once the Referendum results are in, we’ll resume everything on Friday.
Also, because the exchange rate is likely to be volatile, some transfers may take longer due to additional trading limits or possible delays in the UK banking system on Thursday or Friday.

TransferWise was founded on fairness. That means doing the right thing, whatever the situation. Rest assured, we’re working hard to continue to offer the service you expect.
"Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark Twain

I've finessed Transferwise nicely before by booking a transfer price before market events, but this is a big one.

What will Brexit do to EUR vs USD? Any games to be played there?

What on Earth have the armed services and police forces to do with this? They were around long before the EU was thought of, and AFAIK no Brexiters, not even the inevitable few fringe loonies, are proposing to change that. The EU is the biggest threat to our independent police force, and to our armed services.

I was talking about EU politicians and functionaries with fat indexed linked pensions and, bank shareholders, and fat cat investors petrified of the slightest disruption to their cushy setup. They don't give two hoots about the rest of us, and must be laughing at "useful idiots" like you taking it upon yourself to defend their selfish pleading.

You surely mean UK politicians and functionaries, those in EU (outside of UK) will be just fine, in fact I reckon they are better off without UK, finally they can accelerate more closer union for the good of its people, and UK will be doing what it's told by that union if it wants to trade there.

Massive move on Brexit, perhaps as large as Cable. It's questionable whether Brexit is more of an issue for the UK or Europe, at least in the markets. Probably not a symmetric risk though, as I'd expect Cable to bounce more on Bremain. Also, Cable seems to have priced in Bremain more than Eurodollar in recent days.

Looks pretty watchable for the special effects, although that review's conclusion will probably be all too accurate

By the way, whatever happened to "London Has Fallen"? Been waiting months now for the Blurays to appear in the supermarkets, but nada so far!

edit: Oh, according to http://de-beta.imdb.com/news/ni59937230/ the Bluray was released on 14th June. But maybe that is just in the US, given the stupid staggered release schedule they insist on (just asking for pirated copies to be propagated).

I was demonstrating the irrelevance of the Establishment's position on policy matters.

The Socialist Worker Party are pro Brexit and pro dissolution of armed forces and police on the basis that they are tools of the establishment. I expect that the CPGB is similar.

So which side are you on - the establishment or the anti-establishment?
