I say it's impossible scenario because all member states get representation in EU Parliament which selects President - too many diverse countries to allow single dominating one.

The President is correctly elected by the Parliament (which was elected by the people), good solution, EU needed stronger executive branch.

You explain the constitution of the Soviet Union then. I think you will find it is the model on which the EU will become. transfer of powers to the EU (unelected). The national governments then have reduced power so begin to owe their positions to the patronage of the EU. Hey presto we have a Soviet Union.

Unlike you I actually know what Soviet rule was - it was total central control from Moscow, more or less how it is now again in Russia - "rulers" of republics in Soviet Unions were APPOINTED from Moscow, that's not the same with EU and won't work even if they tried.
