I don't see how an EU superstate can work without an equalisation of prices to make it less critical about which country within it you work. We'll still be a go-to destination while it's cheaper for eastern Europeans to come over here and send money home, continuing to be a drain on our resources without returning their revenue back into the UK system.

          What President?

"There is, simply, no President of the European Union as a whole: each of its institutions has its own President. Each one is chosen by the members of the institution concerned, except the Council, whose Presidency rotates automatically among Member States, and the Commission, whose President is elected by the European Parliament. In protocol (ceremonial) terms, it is the President of the Parliament who comes first, as it is the only directly elected institution and is listed first in the treaties."

EU got nothing to do with most critical problems facing this country, if anything EU provides top level stability necessary for a country with fooked up two party system, which are close enough to be the same now.

The President of the Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker. The Commission passes laws, and therefore acts as an overarching government.

The Commission cannot be removed by those it passes laws over.

The led must be able to remove the leader.

"The post was established in 1958 and is elected by the European Parliament, on a proposal of the European Council for five-year terms. Once appointed, he or she, along with the Commission, is responsible to Parliament which can censure the President. The current President is Jean-Claude Juncker, who took office on 1 November 2014. He is a member of the European People's Party (EPP) and is the former Prime Minister of Luxembourg. Juncker is the twelfth President and his First Vice-President is Frans Timmermans."

Next elections due in 2019, that's your answer.

The President is correctly elected by the Parliament (which was elected by the people), good solution, EU needed stronger executive branch.
