If you say this and they make it clear they aren't comfortable with it, and you continue to do it, then I guess so. But then it's just common courtesy that if someone says "I'd rather you don't make comments like that" you don't regardless of what 'that' is.

It seems these days everyone is desperate to be offended and outraged by next to nothing and almost every comment is deemed not politically correct or racist or sexist or anti left handed
