There are some things we know about remain that the BBC doesn't discuss:

1) More poor countries to join the union, giving them access to NHS and benefits here.

2) 250,000 EUR fine per migrant not taken by member states.

3) France and Italy close to crisis/default. We will have to help the Germans with the bailouts.

4) European army will get green light. They are certain to dismantle the UK forces in the process.

5) The EU financial crisis is getting far worse. Remain is shackling us to a sinking vessel.

4 and 5 are certain the happen. Voting IN means huge changes to the UK in the medium and long term, including crippling financial support to Greece, Turkey and poor Eastern European countries. It is also having no input on the future, decisions, laws and policies are created behind closed doors in Brussels.

If this is the future you want, go for it.

No they don't - number of visas are limited and it's a lottery selection now there.

It will be a lot easier for EU countries to tax heavily property owned by non-EU citizens - say good bye to Spain, Portugal (poor sasguru), France and what else there is nice?

I believe they issue 100,000 H1-B visas and a similar number of green cards every year. There is a lottery in April that companies (for H1-B) and people (for green cards) submit applications for throughout the year. The large Indian outsourcing companies tend to get 85% to 90% of all H1-B visas. Once the lottery is over, there companies and people will have to wait until the same time next year.

American companies do not get the people they want. They just make do with what they can get.

I have been applying for this since 2012, no luck yet. I would still debate if I want to make the jump across the pond but would be nice to have the choice. One bonus, my little tulipty house here once sold would buy me a palace there. Contracting is not a big thing over there, I believe in the US Contractors are mainly builders.

An H-1B visa is an employment visa, certainly not a route into contracting. But you're right that contracting isn't the same in the US as here. As you say, there's an annual ceiling on H-1B visas, but there are also quite a few institutions that are exempt from the cap (government agencies, universities etc.), although it's doubtful this would be a route for an IT person (typically for post-docs, academics, researchers or other niche occupations).
