    Once worked with another contractor who said it took 90 mins to drive to work and that his average speed was 85mph.


    I said that I thought he lived 40 miles away. He said he did. I pointed out that meant his average speed was under 30mph.
    He argued that it wasn't.


    Eventually he changed his argument to "there's a bit of the M6 which, if it's clear, I drive at 85mph as a maximum speed"


    Thankfully he went perm before making too much of a fool of himself.

        There is an element of that. I've slowed down a lot as I've got older and no longer look to go through the smallest gaps. It's a lot less stressful that way.

        Also, my bike is quite big, so many of the gaps that exist for sports bikes and scooters just don't exist for me.

          Yeah, fair enough. It can get old, esp. when cars are looking to block you... there must be uniformity of misery
