Dunno where you get preferable from? You list it as an option which is to be used as part of a business plan.. Which you is what I said and what you have done on many occasions. Them's facts.

Legal yes but 99.9% of contractors can't claim it so why not just drop it all and in the very rare instance someone is on his arse so badly we can speak to them about it. It's just not an option for so many.

Just do yourself a favour and drop the whole affair until such times it is a valid and realistic option?

I think my favourite, amongst many, was (for a training role) "so what are the pieces of equipment you'd expect to see in a training room?"

Um, pause * trying to remain professional* a whiteboard, a projector, a flipchart... *really, really straining not to sound sarcastic*... tables, chairs.

I tried to open it up to something sensible like how different layouts could be used for different styles... but he was genuinely testing my knowledge of office furniture.

Not sure of the rules now on savings but, at the time, I was below the limit to claim contributions-based JSA.

Sorry to disappoint you but it was all legal. Not once would I suggest anyone lies about something like this - this would be a bad idea IMHO.

Not going over it again. The rules for JSA are in place. Its been discussed with them - IT IS LEGAL. Claim it or dont claim it. Up to you.
Can you stop going on about JSA please. It's been four years now.

OK. I just advise for others to consider it if they find themselves without a contract. OK so I'll give you that - I suppose it is.

Would disagree about 99.9%. First time contractor - first gig lasts 3 months so not a huge amount of savings. They'd be able to claim.

I must admit I'm not sure what the rules are these days (I'll find out for you) for contrib-based JSA. If I remember it used to be £16K. Not sure.

"On their arse do badly" isnt relevant really.

I'm sure I remember you saying that you weren't asked about cash in the company account so you didn't tell them. Does that ring a bell at all?

Well remembered. I think you might be right. No the one time they didnt even ask but, as I said, there was none anyway. I'd paid it all out in dividends anyway.

On topic, changed my mobile number a while back and I now get pimp emails lamenting that my number no longer works and demand that I send them my new number so they can 'have a catch up'...

Are your married, do you have kids, are you planning to have any in the near future?

Perm role questions, missus got these questions more than I did when we looked at perm roles.

The kids question did come up in Contract roles too, guess they want to know if you will be called away at short notice or need to work from home.

Another great one, my CV and Profile states London, N London, Essex and Surrounding area M25.
Agent calls an ask the usual, confirms my commuting region then says he has a great role. It all sound good then says it is in Leeds. At this point I said, I just confirmed I am looking at London and Surrounding areas. Agent says yes but you said North London... I say Yes North London not Leeds
Agent, ah well your loss it is a great company.
