Both of the Jag and Porsche are well above £70k for a well specified model. (over 90 for a F-type with a v8) (by the way the v6 turbos is far more fun to drive)

TVR are talking about putting their v8 car in their clients hands for £50k. Yes the cost might rise but the latest "track" version of a Porsche 911 GT nut job is well north of 150k

The track day cars like Ariel are not cheap anymore even the used ones are 50k.

£50k buys an Ariel that is a bit too rough on the road
    Not a Jag - f type
    Not a Porsche

Did a bit of reading ("we've got ourselves a reader" ) over lunch and the new TVR (the T37 due out in 2017) will use the Ford V8 5.0 as in the current Mustang, but as it 'only' delivers ~430 horses in standard form they're getting Cosworth to bump it up to around the 500 mark, still naturally aspirated so room for bolting on a turbo or supercharger.

Prices likely to be north of 50k though and already 2 years worth of pre-order deposits taken.

Guy behind the rebirth is an original founder of Bullfrog video games. If only I'd spent more time creating them than playing them in my youth. Still, a good way to use the wealth if you have the IQ, and rescue the company from that pesky ruskie.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

FTFY. The glorious M6 route through the hills, huge amounts of quiet winding lanes in Scotland, etc.

I believe County Durham still have no speed cameras (other than average speed on the unending A1(M) roadworks), certainly they resisted them for many years as a matter of policy.

True, they just remortgage the house over and over to pay them.

Thing is with this TVR rebirth, if I've got say £40K for a V8 engined car, rather than saving up another 10 or 15 grand for the TVR I can get quite a few nearly new cars that will probably be better all round:

                Jaguar XK 5.0 V8 Supercharged R 2dr
                BMW M6 4.4 DCT 2dr
                Audi RS5 COUPE 4.2 FSI quattro S Tronic 3dr

And if I just want a really fast accelerating car I can buy this:

                Nissan Gt-R Coupe [550] Recaro 2dr Auto 3.8

Or you could pay 40 grand for a 2.0 litre hatchback that will outdrag all of them except the GT-R.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't exist
