So much so that I cannot see the point of having the Cayman and the 911 in the same lineup. Supposedly one is mid engined and one rear engined but they look almost the same. Cayman started out as a hard top Boxster but to the uninitiated the Boxster was the open top 911 for those that didn't really know or care about the 911 targa.

Then there's the Porsche Macan and Cayenne. A brief comparison via google images and I cannot see a major difference.

Reminds me of BMW and Audi where they are filling every possible gap in their model line up with derivatives. It's like trying to choose a tube of Colgate, there's loads of variants, only subtly different as you go through the product range.

I have to keep reminding myself of this every time I take my toy in for servicing and see nice shiny AMG 63's sat at the dealers...

I think the truth of it is because the performance of normal cars have improved so much, even thrashing them in a moderately quick car is going to get you some nasty consequences if you happen to stumble past an an unmarked car in the middle of the game. Having been in a court for speeding a long time ago I can attest that Magistrate Courts love young well off guys with sports cars because they get to use them to subsidise the other penniless ******* that cause all manner of grief.

There's loads of lovely metal for sub-£10K. Even lovely low mileage Bentley Arnage T can be had for £30K. Why anyone buys new these days is beyond me.
I agree. For everyday use I have a 1998 Volvo V40 Estate - so fairly similar.

On M40 a lot of bog standard cars do 90

My car makes 602bhp and it's impossible to use even half throttle on the roads in this country without getting into licence losing territory. There's a lot to be said for a light car with a small engine that you can drive flat out everywhere when it comes to the fun factor.

I also used to have a 5.0 TVR.

Enjoy it while you can and try not to end up on this list.
"A footballer was fined £1,400 and given a six-month ban for that offence after being stopped in his BMW M4 Coupe."

Seems quite lenient for 156mph on an A-road.
