Trouble is people like you turn this sort of thing into an argument about sexism. it is actually an argument about market forces. If you want to remove sexism from the equation then make men and women play against each other in the same tournament. You cannot expect to have it both ways.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostI don't think there should be any sexism in sport. Sexism is wrong and wrong is for women.

Long distance swimming and free climbing are also sports where women have outperformed men.WNLSOriginally posted by northernladuk View PostBoth you could argue are entertainment as they are scored on points..... <ducks and runs>
Anything that is marked subjectively isn't a sport!
An interesting aside is ski jumping:
You get scored for "how far" and also "how stylish".....
You used to get penalised style marks for landing with one foot in front of the other, it was deemed much more stylish to land with feet together/beside each other.
But over a few seasons the better, measured by how far, jumpers worked out that the penalty for an ugly landing was more than outweighed by the addition distance that could be obtained so they all started doing it.
So now the style marks have been changed and you get penalised for NOT doing a telemark landing.
I think that women do compete at ski jumping - just not at the Olympics etc. I don't see why a woman falling off a mountain wouldn't go as far as a man but I am willing to bet that the longest ski jump was achieved by a man, ignoring any style marks.
But also:
Higher profile doesn't equal better.
Have you got any links to the long distance swimming and free climbing events eg World fastest times or whatever being held by women?
NB I am not saying that some women aren't very, very good at particular sports just that the, measurable, best (world record holders etc) are men.
My challenge to you still stands - name one sport or event where objectively women are better than or equal to men.Comment
