I am asking myself - why should I continue to invest almost all of my time to get effectively taxed at over 50%, when I could sell and get big lump sum paying 10% ER rate before these fookers make it impossible to claim it?

More importantly - why the Tory Scum Govt is making me think in that way?

So relocate to somewhere more tax friendly. It's not like you are physically tied to the UK to run it.

Why the "pro-business" Tory Scum Govt is making policies that could result in that???

Selling is easier (and cleaner tax wise) than relocating. Both options should not be encouraged by the Govt which should be more interested in long term employment and exports.

As some will be aware I won an IR35 investigation last year that went on for over two years. The new proposal by making the end client if contacting directly, or the agency decide if you are inside IR35 will effectively kill off public sector contracting. The end client will not want the hassle and extra resources needed to review all the contracts and they will say that unless inside IR35 they will not hire you. Meanwhile skilled workers will leave the roles that the local authorities are finding it impossible to fill. They will not be prepared to give up the extra monetary incentive with no employee benefits such as training, sick pay and so on. All of my professional development I pay for myself and I've never expected or received any training. The government know that social workers such as myself are not disguised employees but it's easy money for them. My most recent contract lasted three months with no extension and now I'm on downtime trying to get another contract. I always said 'you pay your money and take your choice' but this is a step too far. I noticed in the hmrc document that it even gives a social worker example indicating how much they've hounded us over the last couple of years.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if one does not contract in the public service, then yesterday's budget had no impact at all?
